The issue exists in Firefox, Google Chrome and also in Internet Explorer. Initially I think this is a bug from google search :D but when I try to search about the issue, I found some explanation.

There are two possible causes for this depending on the exact symptom:

  1. If only searches from the Location bar are affected, this is likely caused by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and/or DNS (Domain Name System) server redirecting invalid requests, or a changed keyword.URL preference setting.
  2. If all searches are redirected (including searches from the search engine’s page itself and searches from the Search bar) this is likely the result of malicious software installed on your computer.

I must remember that I don’t use any antiviruses on my laptop, and sometimes also I install any freeware programs for testing and reviews purpose :cool:

Malware is short for “Malicious Software”. It is a term generally used for software installed on your computer that is designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. Computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware are different types of malware. Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

The first clue I found is go to the Gizmo’s Security Advice Wizard, there I found how to check whether your PC is infected with malware or not. There’re two ways to go: Use an on-line scanner to check your system or Implement the Wizard anti-virus/anti-malware recommendations. I choose the first one.

Most of the major anti-virus software vendors offer on-line scanners. Here are some you can choose from:

Connect to the site of your choice and follow the instructions provided carry out a full scan of your system. In this case I prefer to use BitDefender service. Below is screenshot after quickscan:

As you can see there’re 3 infected files on my laptop. :) The only way is to delete them all. But when I’ve done it my browser still redirect, so I search for the alternative way. The other advice say to download GMER. I do it, but this program couldn’t find any rootkits. Then last one I try using ComboFix tool from Bleepingcomputer.com and run ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune. After run the instructions and finished all step.  I found that my laptop’s browser run fine again without any redirection. :) To ensure no more malware or rootkits in my laptop I run an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner. Great job!

The efficient way is by just type the name like facebook in your address bar and then press Ctrl + Enter and you will see the address will convert to http://www.facebook.com/.

For the website that have TLD .net like The Official Microsoft ASP.NET site. you just type asp in your browser address bar, and then press Shift + Enter, you will see the address will automatically change to http://www.asp.net/.

Use the same technique if you want to visit homepage of wikipedia, just type wikipedia on your address bar, and then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter, this way will automatically bring you to the wikipedia homepage url http://www.wikipedia.org/.

Conclusion:

  • Ctrl + Enter : The efficient way to type homepage of .com domain
  • Shift + Enter : The efficient way to type homepage of .net domain
  • Shift + Ctrl + Enter : The efficient way to type homepage of .org domain

Untuk browser Firerox Anda dapat menggunakan plugin extension Split Browser, namun bagaimana jika Anda menggunakan browser lain seperti Chrome, IE, Opera, atau Safari. Salah satu tool yang dapat Anda gunakan yakni, Javascript bookmarklet.

Sebenarnya tool ini dikembangkan untuk plugin browser Chrome, yakni Google Chrome Dual View. Untuk membagi tab ke dalam 2 frame atau lebih di dalam 1 tab browser. Cara menggunakannya:

  • Anda cukup menyimpan link ini ke dalam bookmark toolbar browser Anda.
  • Jika Anda meng-klik link tersebut, maka secara otomatis browser Anda akan meminta memasukkan 2 alamat web yang akan Anda kunjungi.
  • Setelah itu tab dalam browser Anda akan terbagi dalam 2 frame (baca: bagian).

Bukan cuma Firefox, tapi saya juga mencobanya di Chrome, Opera, dan IE* (Internet Explorer). Bagaimana apakah ada yang mau mencoba tool ini ? :)
