May be you have a question that why sometimes the Google’s homepage logo change? Because that day belongs to holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists and scientists.

Doodles are known as the decorative changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists and scientists. Whether it is the beginning of Spring, Albert Einstein’s birthday, or the 50th anniversary of understanding DNA, the doodle team never fails to find artistic ways to celebrate these unique events.

Having a little bit of fun with the corporate logo by redesigning it from time to time is unheard of at many companies but at Google, it is a part of the brand. While the doodle is primarily a fun way for the company to recognize events and notable people, it also illustrates the creative and innovative personality of the company itself.

How did the idea for doodles originate?

In 1999, the concept of the doodle was born when Google founders Larry and Sergey played with the corporate logo to indicate their attendance at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert. A stick figure drawing was placed behind the 2nd o in the word, Google and the revised logo was intended as a comical message to Google users that the founders were “out of office.” While the first doodle was relatively simple, the idea of decorating the company logo to celebrate notable events was well received by our users.

Over time, the demand for doodles quickly rose both in the U.S. and internationally. Creating doodles is now the responsibility of a team of talented designers. For them, creating doodles has become a team effort to enliven the Google homepage and bring smiles to a myriad of Google users worldwide.

Do you always use google search engine to search any content within the internet? Do you ever send the query link to your friend through an email or chat conversation?

If you take a look to your google query link, the stucture should be like http://www.google.com/search?q=your+query+here. Ok, in this short post, I just want to explain how to efficiently search or share your search query link on google. Take example that you want to search “who is patembe” through google. The first way is you can go to the google homepage by type www.google.com on your browser address bar, and then type “who is patembe” in the search box. The second one (and this is the way I recomended to use) is by just type gog.is/who,is,patembe on your address bar, press enter and you will automatically redirect to the google search result for your query. Isn’t it a fast one technique?

The common structure is gog.is/your,query,here. you can also replace the comma by using plus sign (+) or stripe sign (-).

Berikut ini adalah trik tentang fitur yang jarang orang temukan pada GMail.

Anda dapat dengan nyaman membagikan alamat email Anda pada sebuah situs, mailing list, atau forum tanpa perlu khawatir dengan spammer.

Trik 1: GMail membolehkan email alias, berbeda halnya dengan Yahoo! mail yang hanya membolehkan satu email alias, GMail akan memberikan Anda nama email alias yang tak terbatas.

Sebuah email yang dikirim kepada barrack.obama@gmail.com atau barrack.obama+fans@gmail.com atau barrack.obama+blog@gmail.com akan diteruskan kepada satu alamat email, yakni barrack.obama@gmail.com.

Gmail tidak mengenal (mengabaikan) karakter setelah tanda plus (baca: tambah), tetapi fitur search filter pada gmail dapat membedakan alamat email yang berbeda, sehingga Anda dapat memisahkan email-email ini ke dalam folder atau label yang berbeda.

Sehingga semua email yang ditujukan kepada: alama sebagai barrack.obama+blog@gmail.com [mungkin dari pembaca blog dia] dapat disimpan langsung pada folder blog di gmail, sehingga memudahkan memanage email-email pada kotak masuk-nya.

Trik 2: Gmail tidak dapat mengenal titik pada alama email ataupun nama pengguna – yang artinya alamat email seperti barrack.obama@gmail.com adalah juga sama dengan barrack.o.bama@gmail.com ataupun barrack…obama@gmail.com.

Sebenarnya ini adalah kekurang sistemnya, namun Anda dapat memanfaatkan ini untuk mendapatkan alamat email yang berbeda.

Perlu Anda ketahui bahwa tanda strip (-) dan underscores (_) tidak dapat digunakan pada alamat email pada Gmail. Juga, nama pengguna gmail tidak case insensitive, sehingga tidak masalah apakah Anda menggunakan tulisan upper case atau lower case.

Alamat RSS Feed untuk Gmail

Jika Anda pengguna Gmail (email dari Google), Anda dapat membaca email melalui news reader layaknya FeedDemon atau via RSS feed. RSS feed untuk kotak masuk (inbox) pada Gmail dapat ditemukan melalui alamat di bawah:

https://gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom

Jika berlangganan dengan Gmail RSS ini, terlebih dahulu Anda akan diminta mem-verifikasi nama pengguna (username) dan password Gmail / akun Google Anda. setelah itu akan muncul peringatan:

You are about to log in to the site “gmail.google.com” with the username “patembe”, but the website does not require authentication. This may be an attempt to trick you.

Is “gmail.google.com” the site you want to visit?

Klik Yes, dan setelah daftar email pada inbox telah ditampilkan, nah untuk berlangganan via RSS tersebut tinggal mengklik Subcribe Now pada browser Anda. Selain cara di atas, Anda juga dapat mengetikkan alamat feed Gmail dengan menyertakan username / passwordnya:

http://usernameAnda:password@gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom/

Catatan: Gmail RSS feed hanya menampilkan email yang belum dibaca (unread message), jadi jika tidak ada daftar email yang ditampilkan oleh kedua alamat di atas, tidak perlu khawatir, ada kemungkinan Anda belum mempunyai email baru atau yang belum dibaca. Selamat mencoba!
